PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY
Origin Engineering Pty Ltd. is an engineering machining and manufacturing services company that provides varied volume manufacturing, prototyping and production services to our clients. All work carried out excluding manufactured products or supply of components, parts, assemblies or products to in-house designs is based on customer supplied instructions including but not limited to drawings (hard copy and electronic formats), sketches, 3D models, Numeric Control (NC) programmes or sample parts (or any combination of these).
These items constitute sensitive client information. We take protection of all such (client) information and the overall privacy and confidentiality relating to everything we do very seriously.
On this basis, we have created this privacy policy to show you how we manage information you as our clients provide to us.
In order to provide you with information, products and services, we may collect and retain “Personal, Sensitive or Proprietary" Information including "Intellectual Property” (IP), i.e. "Client Personal Information". In addition to "IP", “Client Personal Information” can include information such as names, address, contact details, bank account details and drawings including any of the above formats specified.
We will not collect or retain your personal information unless it's necessary for us to conduct routine business with you as a potential future, past or present client.
We will only collect personal information from you or from someone you have authorised to provide information to us. We will also only collect information necessary,
lawful and by fair means and not in an intrusive way.
COLLECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
When you use our services, we may collect personal information about your organisation. This usually pertains to credit checks associated with establishment of new credit account requests or queries relating to the financial status of debtors.
Because we take your privacy very seriously, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that you are aware of:
- Who we are and how you can contact us.
- How you can gain access to the information we have collected about you.
- The purposes for which the personal information is collected.
We prefer to collect personal information about an organisation or individual only from that organisation or individual. At no time will we will not ask you for personal information about someone else or another organisation.
WHERE WE HOLD YOUR INFORMATION
The information you provide to us is held on our servers within Australia and access to these servers is restricted. Some information such as NC files for 3rd party cutting of steel outlines may be provided to and held by our suppliers such as steel merchants or 3rd party suppliers. When this is the case all information is de-identified to remove any trace of originating company or individual, project, application or product type.
By using our service, you are consenting to this process. The service providers who host our servers are not permitted to access your personal information except for the purposes of storing
it. Although we will take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide to us and communication and transmission of data or information using any of the methods we employ, it is common knowledge that the Internet itself is not secure and hacking is widespread and indiscriminate globally and as a result we shall accept no responsibility for any privacy breaches associated with internet systems failures (internal or others in the chain such as those of our providers), hacking or interception of information exchanged over emails which is inherantly not secure.
WHEN WE WILL DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION
As a general principle, we won’t disclose your personal information without your express permission unless we are required to do so by law. Additionally we will not make your personal information available to any 3rd party organisation or individual for any financial or other type of material gain or advantage without your written permission.
INFORMATION MAINTENANCE
Although we will take all reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate and up-to-date, it is your responsibility to
ensure that the information you provide to us is accurate and current. You control the information you provide to us and you can correct or update any information you
choose to provide to us at any time.
TRANSPARANCY
This document sets out our approach to the management of personal information and we make this available to anyone who asks for it. If you need to know more, we are more
than happy to explain to you what sort of personal information we hold and for what purpose. We will also explain how we collect, hold, use and may disclose that information.
ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION
If we hold personal information about you, you can request access to the information. We will not restrict your access to the information. You must request this in writing
and a copy will be made available to you providing there are no outstanding or unresolved matters that affect us providing access to the information.

This policy will be updated from time to time and become effective the moment it is posted on our site. If you send information for a quotation whether you subsequently use our services or not, you are deemed to have a accepted this policy for any information you have provided at the time or in the future for any subsequent business with us.

In summary, the information you provide us stays with us and it is not disclosed to others without your permission unless stipulated in any of the criteria above. We take your confidentiality very seriously.
